Andrei Arlovski

A 28 year old mixed martial arts fighter from Belarus , known as “The Pitbull” for his tough fighting prowess. He is the former UFC Heavyweight Champion and is well known for a string of victories over famous UFC fighters like Fabricio Werdum, Vladimir Matyushenko and the highly regarded Tim Sylvia.

Andrei Arlovski started learning martial arts at age 18. Since then he constantly participated in mixed martial arts tournament where he made a name for himself by winning the European Sambo Tournament and the World Youth Crown in 1999.

Andrei begun his professional mixed martial arts career by fighting in an M-1 event held in Russia in 1999 where he lost in his debut. Not to be taken down that easily Andrei returned the following year where he won the European Heavyweight Championship of the M-1 event by a spectacular series of wins that includes a knockout and a submission.

In his UFC career Andrei fared considerably well by winning in his UFC debut over Aaron Bink, after that he captured the Heavyweight crown after punishing Tim Sylvia by submission in UFC 51. After becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion at UFC 55 when he knocked out Paul Buentello, Arlovski lost two close matches against Tim Sylvia to surrender his title.

Currently Andrei Arlovski is coming off a spectacular win over Fabricio Werdum at UFC 70 in what seems to be the start of his comeback to recapture the heavyweight crown. His current mixed martial arts record stands at 11 wins and 5 losses.
