I’ll say that this fight went much like how I suspected that it was going to. I knew that there wasn’t no way in hell Brock was capable of matching Carwin’s stand-up. Hell, I don’t think any current heavyweight in the UFC can. Dos Santos and Valesquez are the only two variables still standing in Shane’s claim to the belt. Brock? Pfff. He was helpless throughout the entire first round. Brock was talking about his fight with Mir and how he bragged that no one was every bloodied up that quick. Brock you had your feet, your fists, and your head all rammed up your ass in that one round, all your accomplishments upstaged, and I have to say…you weathered the storm…but you just created an even bigger monster. Carwin will be back. He’ll not make the mistake of gasing himself out and he’ll pick Brock apart. If JDS or Cain doesn’t get to him first, that is. Don’t get me wrong guys, I’m a Brock fan as much as I’m a Carwin fan, but I saw more in Shane tonight than I saw in Lesnar. I’m disappointed in Lesnar’s performance and I’m disappointed that Shane lost. This is an exact repeat of the first Mir vs Lesnar fight. Lol. The rematch is going to turn out the same way. With the winner of the previous one broken on the canvas. Brock better shake of the ring rust. His next fight as champion might be his last. Props to Carwin for showing that he’s argueably the most explosive and simply destructive fighter in the Heavyweight division. Likely in the whole UFC. I feel sorry for whoever fights him next. Lol. There’s gonna be blood. Brock….clock’s ticking.
Brock landed 0 strikes…and won…we know he’s no Nogueira, so i guess that means he got lucky.
I learned that: Brock has a decent chin.. i also learned that Brock has no standing game and has no chance in hell of counter punching anyone.. As long as someone can sprawl him, Brock is fked…
Hate to bring this up but this is shades of Fedor vs Sylvia where Fedor cuaght him w/ an uppercut and finished the dude right away with submissions, something Carwin easily couldve done had he had an armbar in his arsenal.
I have so much confidence that Cain V will beat Les if he can sprawl him b/c we know Cain’s got the endurance and the skill set. Fedor would obviously shit on lesnar so im not going to discuss taht…except for that statement
Brock its a warrior he can handle all the first round being beaten, his cardio has been improved , and his actitude to xD
all due respect to brock for the win…but that first round almost made up for the fact that carwin lost….domination followed by a gas-out..sigh. brock lesnar can be beat, though, im more confident saying that than ever. im not sure i buy the whole “humble” brock…how can you not act humble after getting worked over like that? but he deservedly has the belt. no arguments as to who the heavyweight champ is…best heavyweight ever? fuck no..

brock is a rookie to the mma and to go up against a guy like shane would have been a sure lost for brock but brock lasted out the first round showing that he is hard to break and in the second round he went to his wrestling background and got the submission in so big respect to brock lesnar who was my favourite wwe wrestler lol i’ll be lookin forward to him meeting former wwe wrestler BATISTA!!!! if he gets his mma contract
i like how everyone talks like it is such a small deal to weather the first round like that…. LIKE ANYONE can do that…i can count at least three times were brock was on the ground hanging on for conciousness… i think that is what makes a great fighter…anyone can do or train for what carwin does… ANYONE…its just instinct to survive like lesnar
I am so sick & tired of hearing/reading about Fedor. He is NOT the best heavyweight in the world. He has a record full of Japanese pro wrestlers & no-game tomato cans with the occasional win over a decent fighter. Yes he possesses a solid chin and huge right hand, so what. Look back as recent as his fight with Brett Rogers. The ref saved his ass. Rogers first punch broke Fedor’s nose & he then pounded his face through the ring floor and the ref wouldn’t call it. Rogers is a flabby shadow of these two guys. What would Fedor do with guy like Brock or Shane on top of him. Guys stronger than him, out weigh him by 60+ pounds and can actually wrestle?? Another thing is Fedor is a chicken shit. He won’t fight for the UFC because they allow elbows on the ground and cuts easily. Lets wait and see how good these two guys will be once they have amassed a record like Fedor’s because it won’t be puffed up with no talent bums.
been watching mma for a very long time a love to watch to watch, hers the main crack down i know there are many fedor haters out there and think that brock or shane would just kill fedor easily. first off i have know doubt that they could win but they still lack the experience that fedor has, i still think fedor would shock everyone and beat both of them brock has many flaws and his wrestling gets him out of ever fight but yes he is a tough sob, and shane when gettin pummeled cracks under pressure, you put fedor against there flaws he would dominate thats what he does finds your weak spot smart and explosive his last fight was a misstake from my point of veiw and he admits it got caught and stayed caught a misstake that probably wont happen again, he should just rematch beat him and become a free agent, take no contracts and fight all the champions overrem,and brock if he wins hes the best and call it quits no more of this bullshit he is already a champ and needs to fight all the champs dosent need to prove to fight all the contestant but what ever thats m1-global for you stupid fucks show what people want to see before it is to late and they all quit and retire
Very entertaining fight. I agree that hey are not the 2 best heavyweights in the world. In my opinion it should’ve been stoped in the first round. Carwin just punched himself out, and his arms were gassed that’s all. He defended the takedown very well in the fist, so much for “Div. 2 wrestlers suck”. Brock looked like he learned his lesson. He looked relieved after the fight was done.
I had to laugh at how bad Brock looked. Dana must be embarassed b/c the golden by looked horrible even though he won. Fedor looked much better in his defeat than vs Brock’s win.
I stated before that the worst match up for Brock is someone with good take down defense and good striking. Why UFC never gave Brock such an opponent- always fed him people known to have poor take down – Herring, Mir. Randy was good but undersized.
Carwin met most of that criterea but is not technically gifted striker. Oveereem would outclass either on the feet. Oveereem with ko power in his knees,elbows,hands, and feet along with much better foot work and ability to put toghter combos would most likely Ko Brock/Carwin rather easily without breaking a sweat. Reem is faster, more explosive, has longer reach and height, and has the ability to work on top or off his back and with better submissions knowledge. He is under the radar and UFC will never even consider letting Brock fight him. I wish Dana starts calling out Reem like he i scalling out Fedor but Dana is smart enough to know who he shouldn’t bark at.
It is also emabarassing for UFC how the match wasn’t stopped in the first. Shows how much bias toward promoting Brock. Brock showed evn worse stand up than I gave hime credit for. No composure under fire, no ability to counter, getting hit by slow looping punches, and what professional striker closes his eyes when punches are flying towards him and runs away.
This fight made my bad. What a joke.
I feel Cain will destroy Brock. Cain is by far the greatest force in UFC. Cain has the best combination of speed, exlosiveness, is by far the most well-rounded, and has shown the ability to learn. I feel that Cain is the more atheletic version of Fedor and along with more experience, will get the Torch from Fedor

seriously, though. if this was ANYBODY other than the dude who was on the cover of the videogame this fight would have been stopped in the first. watch the brendan shaub fight from earlier on the card and tell me why this fight wasnt stopped similarly. lesnar took 47X the amount of blows as carwin, got rocked and dropped multiple times and gets raped in the face…yet not so much as a warning from the ref for brock to fight back?….im sorry, but the ufcs just making a cash cow out of this dude. AGENDA. mir didnt take half as many shots as lesnar did(in lesnar mir 2)…but his shit got stopped…POOP, POOP, i say.

SHANE should’ve let brock stand back up when he rocked him. the ref shouldve already stopped it when your running away it shows pretty much that u cant take any mmore. look at the chris leben vs aaron simpson fight, aaron got rocked was runnin back and fell and the ref stopped the fight. no doubt about it brock is a beast with some mad talent but he definitley got lucky in this fite. i wanna c a REMATCH
Any fight stoppage w/o a KO is BS, especially in the first round. Everybody knows that. So it seems odd that so many people are complaining about it. I had to watch it twice, but Brock was defending the whole time, so stoppage would have been foul, as proved in the second round. Really, where would people like Forest Griffin be with early stoppages running a muck? Face it, Carwin is a first round KO artist, and Brock took the heat, then quenched the fire, nobody else could, Brock did.
I thought that running away means your afraid and brock ran fast. I am not a shane carwin fan either he ran out of gas brock would be dead if shane had any energy . or lungs. the champ ran for his life. but i back cain valasquez to become champion, he may be smaller but his standup is crisp and his cardio is excellent, plus brocks wrestling didnt look as good as many thought in this fight or the couture fight, his opponents have been able to stop takedowns several times, cain is superior and will be a great champion

We continue to see power guys making this mistake. 12-0 of the same game plan. The Carwin’s team got worked by a smarter team. Brock’s team prepared really well. Brock made the best decision to let him tire out. Great instincts. You only have so much fuel when your going full afterburners in the first round. He was so tired he could not generate a defense when place on his back in the second. Brock deserved the win. Takes more than pound and ground.
Cain has average stand up jds supierior stand up neither one will have brock loosing any sleep their too small against a superior wrestler.
But the offials know brock is a beast, they know it yeah, he is not a chicken chinned pussy like Frank Mir so they let the fight go understanding knowing he is just rocked not out. you have a reputation and the refs know it!!!
Brock Lesnar is the most talented fighter in the UFC and in the world. People can argue that he has no stand-up or whatever, and sure, that is definetely how it seemed against Carwin. Shane Carwin has some of the best strikes that we’ve seen yet, so he outmatched Lesnar in that aspect, but that does NOT mean that Brock has no stand-up skill. Brock is constantly evolving and is freakishly tough. Shane Carwin threw 58 strikes in the 1st round, many of them connected while Lesnar was still conscious. This is something that 12 other heavyweights could not do which earns Lesnar the top spot in the Heavyweight ranks.
You fellas obviously don’t know what you’re talking about! Both guys are legit, in my book. A win is a win. When they made the official decision, they didn’t say: Brock Lesnar wins via lucky-ass submission. It says: Brock Lesnar wins via submission. And whoever thinks Fedor can beat Brock, you’re sadly mistaken. Yeah, he’s beat some really tough guys in the past, but he’s too big of a pussy to even sign with the UFC to fight anybody! Idc how big or how bad you are, you’re NOT gonna get a one-fight contract. It’s not gonna happen! So, he’s with Strikeforce? Fail! I don’t like Brock more than anyone else in the world, but the dude is a beast! He’s a legit heavyweight and I don’t see anyone else beating him any time soon. If Carwin couldn’t do it, no one else can… Yet.
